Dimensions of Meaning

The Mormon Tarot uses multiple dimensions of meaning in an attempt to convey the broader narrative illustrated in each card. 

The Empirical Dimension: This dimension is informed by evidence taken from reliable, or mostly reliable sources. Wherever possible, each MT card attempts to be historically and factually accurate. As a disclaimer: in certain instances this dimension is slightly compromised by other dimensions to tell a broader story.

Example: The pepper box pistol in the Hanged Man card was modeled after the original. It is a simplified, but accurate representation of the pistol that was smuggled into Carthage Jail and given to JS before the assassination. (BTW, Hyrum also had a smuggled pistol.) JS later used it to shoot 3 men before he was killed. The pistol most likely fell on the floor of the bedroom before JS was shot and fell out the window.
